# [[macOS]] - Investigating Package and Apps I'll let them explain it more, but Mother's Ruin has made two lovely tools: [SuspiciousPackage](https://www.mothersruin.com/software/SuspiciousPackage/) and [Apparency](https://www.mothersruin.com/software/Apparency/) which let you see what a `.pkg` or `.app` respectively are doing! These are suuuuuper helpful tools and I highly recomend getting familiar with them. They're even useful if you are deploying packages using something like Jamf Composer, so that you can investigate and check what that `.pkg` you made like 3 years ago does.
