# [[macOS]] - Admin Override Login
Admin users have a lot of power. They an even unlock other user sessions from the lock screen.
Press <kbd>Option + Return</kbd> and enter an admin login and you can unlock any lock screen on [[macOS]].
So far I've not found a way to disable this feature, but quite handy to avoid needing to know a user password when servicing a computer.
> [!WARNING] FileVault
> This will not work to unlock a disk in the rare cases where the admin user does not have a secure token, but a standard user does. They will still need to decrypt the disk or you will need to use a recovery key.
